Larry, last year dan and i drove in friday morning and went straight to autox. We stayed on Rt301 after bridge and turned off on Rt300 to get there. Nice drive and actually better than driving to Rehoboth. Also drive from autox to rehoboth was very spirited, just ask Hector!
Are you planning on going this year also? Why don't you join us for the drive on Friday to the auto-X.

I’ll make room somehow, cause I’ll still have my luggage and car cover. Yeah, we can do this!

Thanks to all of the Delaware Contingency CACCr's!!
What a great time it was from the beginning to where I met up with my 2 amigos (Hector and Larry), we traveled down 301 and 300 enjoying the countryside scenery and actually meeting a few people on the side road in a gator of all things. Arriving at the Harley Davison autocross event, Huggy immediately places me for a run behind two cars. No instructions, no details of any kind, just, 'Follow that car a head of you!' Mike Holt told me later to have everybody watch, "Hey everyone, Dan's going cold, has no idea where he's going, this oughta be good!" Yep, no idea, it was fun, and it was a blast... I haven't laughed that hard in a long time! The ride back was indeed a more calmer with no accidents nor tickets like last year. Friday night at Obie's Restaurant and bar, the food and drinks were fantastic and in abundance. The usual Friday night gathering in the parking lot at the hotel was expectedly a fun gathering event. Meeting our new patrons from New Jersey and reacquainting with old friends and loyalists!
Saturday, with the cruise down through Ocean City was exceptional and on behalf of our members we behaved quite well and it was a good thing too. There was a multi-service police force present and were cracking down all of the bad juju on the streets. Driving through the City wasn't bad at all however slow, but it was definitely better than the gridlock we had last year. The cameras and phones were out taking or filming our rides as we headed on through... yeah, we're a Cobra Club Bitches!
Always a pleasure to cruise through the countryside of Delaware and checking out the scenes. Riding along with Henry R. and telling each other stories during our stints in the Air Force was enjoyable. The 1st stop at the winery for a mid drive cool down was a nice add to the run, especially for the Slushies! After that we headed for Hammerheads and were intercepted by a lone Cobra (I believe) that wasn't from our club that had cut me off as we were coming over the bridge. (FFR MkII/III?, Black, Dual Rollbars, Pennsylvania plates 'TRON2' - Did anyone get to talk to these folk?)
The food and service was I thought pretty good for the fact the place was busy with other patrons. sat with Larry White and mingled with the New Jersey folks learning how they came into the club. Hammerheads always has a great scenery of the docks and bridge and though we had to park sporadically throughout the parking lot only a few cobras were visible.
Heading back home bunched around a group of cobras is always a blast, especially when people nearly falling out of the open windows to get a look or a picture of our cars, silly as it was, it's a cool thing for me to see that folks appreciate our cars. After being stuffed with food and the short ride back, I tried to take a moment to rest but couldn't. That's when I ran into Ripper and volunteered to assist in recovering a downed Cobra on the coastal hwy. Phil's green cobra needed the rescue just off the main road hiding behind some brushes and trees on a dirt road near the coastal towers.
Doc, Henry, Phil and the Mrs, Kevin, and myself got 'er up on the trailer with brute force (lol) and towed it back to his house and received a nice garage tour of some really nice projects and cars. Thanks for the tour Phil!
After freshening up for the BBQ at the Burton's got the gas and BYOBs, headed on to the homestead's driveway to where Ripper challenged me to hit him with my car... and so I did! (lightly , of course!) The backyard with it's grand view of the setting sun was spectacular and the dew settling in... Shocker! Everyone relaxes and meet and greets, drinking and telling the tales of the weekend were quite fascinating and typical with this crowd. We got some speeches from Rob the (MC) Master of Ceremony and from our renown leader of over 19 years (Yawn) who had some good things say and words of improving the clubs attendance and participation with the club in events or cruises. The awards were given out for the autocross event, but I have to say, Hector's bumper award tops out everyone's... Too funny!
The breakfast at Starboards was real delicious even though the humidity was up a bit and did not stop us! The roll out of Starboards were almost unexcited to say the least

I know I wrote a lot here, however I felt if that others will read this they might just might interested for next years event! BIG THANKS again for all of you in DELAWARELAND!

Want to thank everyone who put the event together and of course Rob and Jen for opening their house to us ( they never learned) :). Uneventful drive back except for some detours around Milton but Kevin got us home. It was great seeing everyone after a 3 year hiatus.

Sorry to have missed it this year. Looks like you all had a great time despite the mechanical woes.

Thanks for the "signature" Bottle of wine. I'll have to find a memorable occasion to drink it
